Podcast 237 – When Is a Quilt More than a Quilt?

My first podcast in a minute, or so.

Let’s talk about the importance of documenting the story that is hidden in our quilts. We work through our issues, problems and emotion while we work on quilts. What’s going on in the world, in our country, community, our homes, families but specifically in our hearts. If we don’t write the secret stories that are locked in our quilts, they’ll be lost when we “go”.

So, I talk about my “Covid quilt” and the stories that are a huge part of it’s creation. I share the fabrics that were chosen, the classes that were a part of it and where it almost went.

I’m teaching a half-day class based on the concept of pulling our story out of a quilt in my Road to California class at Road@Home 2021 in January — “If Our Quilts Could Talk, What Would They Say About Us?”. The class on Friday, January 22nd and is virtual, so you don’t have to travel anywhere to take it. Go to Road2CA for complete information.
