The West of Baltimore quilt is a unique Block of the Month — and totally do-able! Create it with beautiful cotton fabrics or wool. Each block is 17” square, finished. The finished quilt is a Queen-size, 82” x 82”. The quilt was created by Annie for a group of students who wanted to go further with her instruction. The West of Baltimore was featured in the Keepsake Quilting catalog for 2 1/2 years as a kit, was selected for Elly Sienkiewicz’s Baltimore Album Revival II exhibit at Quilt Festival in Houston in 2010 and then traveled the world as a part of the exhibit for two years. Blocks 1-12 will make up the quilt, and pattern #13 has the border inset patterns and the instructions for completing the quilt. This quilt was made using a raw-edge fusible machine applique technique. The instructions for that technique is included in the block patterns, but you can use any applique technique that you enjoy. For the full assortment of patterns, see the product gallery images. The patterns are also sold separately.
Just a note: Every student I’ve had that has entered the West of Baltimore quilt into competition has won a blue ribbon and/or Best of Show! Why not give it a try?
